Despite the common fear of insects and spiders, the majority of these creatures are not harmful to humans. This bias against bugs is a learned behavior which is gained during infancy by observing adults’ reaction. In fact, many species are beneficial. Insects and arachnids help to recycle waste, spread pollen, eat pests, feed animals, and produce goods like silk and honey. This poster series celebrates the beauty of these misunderstood creatures.
